Soulcialize Cupcakes

Soulcialize Cupcakes needed an update to their website to reflect not just their growth but the underlying ethos that the company has begun to establish.
The Challenge
Soulcialize Cupcakes approached us with a challenge to reflect the company's personality on a new website. They provided us with a moodboard and a library of mouth watering professionaly shot images of their cupcakes.
Our Approach
In order to achieve what Soulcialize Cupcakes required from us, we focused on working around the images that were provided, using javascript transitions to supplement and enhance the users experience on the website.
We found that by working around the images we could overcome design obstacles and use them to our advantage to make the website much more inviting to potential customers.
With this knowledge we created a prominent and well defined primary navigation that would help to frame pages and their supporting imagery. We used jQuery animations to perform transitions between pages and the elements within them, such as the cupcakes page.
By using @font-face with support for IE6 we could begin to play with typography beyond what is currently deemed as browser safe without having a major impact on the customers experience within the browser.
We created automated acceptance and Javascript unit tests to ensure that any change to the website would be fully tested before being deployed.
